U.S. Concerned About Anti-Satellite Weapons Test of China
China’s testing anti-satellite weapons is inconsistent with the spirit of cooperation of both countries in the civil space area, AFP reported with reference to the U.S. administration’s spokesman.
The United States believes that developing and testing such weapons is inconsistent with the spirit of cooperation of both countries in the civil space area, said National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe. Like other countries, the United States voiced its concerns to China, Johndroe specified.

Australia also criticized China for testing.

On January 11, the ground-launched ballistic missile destroyed an old satellite of China that was on the 800km orbit, according to the U.S. intelligence.

Last time, ballistic missiles were tested to hit satellites in the United States in 1985, The Times reported.
