Moldova’s Aircraft Probably Shot Down by Iraq’s Militants
The Islamic Army in Iraq announced it had shot down the plane of Moldova near Ballad, AP reported with reference to one of the Islamic web-sites.
Moldova’s Aerian-Tur M’s An-26, registered No.: ER-26068, was en route from Adan, Turkey, to Iraq’s Ballad. It crashed January 9 near Ballad, killing 34, including five crew members, the citizens of Moldova.

Only one person, a citizen of Turkey, survived the crash. The bodies are in Adan now, and only seven of them have been identified as of today.

The initial explanation of the crash was bad weather conditions. The visibility was very poor near the airport because of the heavy fog, representatives of Turkish Foreign Ministry said after the crash.
