Central Bank of Russia Releases Commemorative Precious Coins
The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) releases in circulation Tuesday commemorative precious coins of The Outstanding Persons of Russia series dedicated to the hundredth birthday anniversary of prominent space rocket designer Sergey Korolev. In addition, CBR releases the coins dedicated to the Moon Calendar and the World Polar Year.
CBR will also release investment gold coins of 50-ruble par value (7.78 grams of pure gold of 999 fineness and 22.6-millimeter diameter), depicting Saint George the Victorious sitting on horseback and spearing a dragon. The mintage year is 2007.
Silver coins timed to the hundredth birthday of Sergey Korolev are of two-ruble par value (the weight of pure silver is 15.55 grams; metal fineness is 925). These are round coins of 33-milimiter diameter.
The Moon Calendar round silver coins of 39 millimeters in diameter show a boar and have the three-ruble par (the weight of pure silver is 31.1 grams; metal fineness - 925).
The World Polar Year is marked by three-ruble silver coins (31.1 grams; 925 fineness), 100-ruble silver coins (a kilogram; 925 fineness) and gold coins of 1,000-ruble par (155.5 grams; 999 fineness). The coins have diameters of 39 millimeters, 100 millimeters and 50 millimeters respectively.
