Rosoboronexport Accuses U.S. of Unfair Trade Practices
Rosoboronexport considers the trade sanctions imposed on it by the United States “unfair competition,” company spokesman Valery Kartavtsev told the RIA Novosti news agency. He added that the company had not received official information on the sanctions it is under, which were reported in The Washington Post on December 5. “Therefore, we cannot comment on them,” he said.
“Our company is managed under international legal standards and Russian legislation, strictly observed,” Kartavtsev said. “I want to emphasize that, in all of Rosoboronexport's history, no charges have ever been made against us of violating those standards or our defense obligations.”

According to the American newspaper, which cited an unknown White House source, sanctions were imposed on three Russian companies, Rosoboronexport, the Tula Instrument Design Bureau and the Kolomna Heavy Equipment Design Bureau. All of them are accused of selling weapons to Iran and Syria.
