Abkhaz Leader Presented $13bln Bill to Georgia
For development of Abkhazia, the key hurdle is blockade declared by Georgia, Sergey Bagapsh, president of this breakaway republic of Georgia, said in Sukhumi Friday.
The damage caused by Georgia to Abkhazia amounts to $13 billion dollars, Bagapsh told the 5th World Congress of Abkhaz People, lenta.ru reported referring to News Georgia.

Repatriation is priority for Sukhumi, Bagapsh said when touching upon foreign policy of his country. But Abkhazia cannot independently tackle the problem of compatriots’ repatriation because of the current condition of economy.

First of all, Abkhazia should focus on shaping and implementing the international project for repatriation of descendents of Abkhaz refugees. It will restore historical justice and advance the country to essentially different level of development, Bagapsh said.

Georgia imposed economic blockade on Abkhazia once the war started on the soil of the latter in early 1990s. That war ended by the victory of Abkhazia.
