France’s Embassy Makes Concessions to Russia’s Tourists
France’s Embassy in Moscow resumed December 14 accepting the visa applications for the bus tours to the country. Each tourist firm is allowed to submit up to 50 passports for the urgent dates. On December 15, the Embassy will accept passport documents for tourists leaving on and prior to January 3, Russia’s Tourist Union briefer Irina Tyurina said as quoted by Interfax.
The documents of tourists leaving for France after January 3 could be submitted on Monday, December 18, Tyurina specified.

The termination of visa provision for bus tours by the France’s Embassy threatened the New Year holidays of roughly a thousand of Russians, who had paid for their trips already. The explanation given by the Consulate Department of the Embassy was that they had received twice as many applications as usually in this time of the year.

The loss of Russia’s tourist firms from these terminating actions of the France’s Embassy would have been roughly ˆ800,000, Russian Tourist Union forecasted.
