Most Russians Don't Believe in Foreign Military Threat
As much as 51 percent of all Russians don't believe in foreign military threat, says the poll of Yury Levada Center timed to the Day of the Motherland's Defender.
The 62 percent of all respondents are sure Russia's Army will defend the country in case of the real threat of war.
The strength of such Invincible Army is not very clear. The 69 percent of respondents answered negatively, when asked whether they want to see in the army the son, brother, husband or any other close relative.
Most Russians directly link the Day of February 23 to the Armed Forces, said the poll of All-Russia's Center for Studying Public Opinion.
Only 42 percent of respondents, the youth predominantly, refer to February 23 as to "the holiday of all men," while 31 percent regard it "as the holiday of our military," and 19 percent think it the Day of the Red Army's creation. It is "an extra day-off," said 7 percent of respondents.
