Construction of Pipeline to the Pacific Ocean to Start in Summer, Putin Pledged
The actual construction of the pipeline running up to the Pacific Ocean will start this summer, RIA Novosti quoted Russia's President Vladimir Putin as saying in Yakutsk.
The project will be finally agreed on in April, Putin said at the meeting in Yakutsk, adding the pipeline will reach Skovorodino at the first stage.
"We will set out to the actual work on the project in summer." But it would be hardly effective, "should we fail to execute the projects on developing fields of the Eastern Siberia, in particular, of Yakutia," the president emphasized.
"We won't be able to efficiency manage the territory" unless we solve social issues there, Putin pointed out.
