Basaev Claims Responsibility for Kadyrov’s Murder
May 17, A Chechen separatist site has published a statement by Shamil Basaev in which he claims responsibility for the May 9 terrorist act at Dinamo Stadium that killed President of Chechnya Akhmad Kadyrov.
The statement specifically says that the terrorist act was carried out as part of the so-called Operation Retribution.
In addition, Basaev made new threats directed at Chechnya’s leadership and federal authorities.
