The Police Are Checking Chechnya
A large-scale rapid preventive operation known as "Antiterror Whirlwind" has started in Chechnya.
In compliance with an order of Chechnya's Interior Minister, a large-scale rapid preventive operation known as "Antiterror Whirlwind" has started in the republic. All law enforcement personnel have been shifted to an intensified form of service, the regional operational headquarters (ROSh) has reported.

According to the operating plan, a series of measures aimed at maintaining public order in various communities is being carried out, targeted inspections are being conducted, and measures are being taken to identify and arrest persons involved in serious and very serious crimes, including preparing and carrying out acts of terror and sabotage. ROSh staff noted that the measures being taken "do not fetter the life and movement of citizens in the republic." All of Chechnya's vital support services will function as before.

At the same time, according to ROSh's information, there has been an increase in the number of citizens contacting regional internal affairs offices, where all information received by law enforcement agencies is being double checked.
