Kurni Vs. Sharapova
Some of the biggest tennis players, including Russian Maria Sharapova and Anna Kurnikova, German Steffi Graff, U.S. Venus Williams, Lindsay Davenport and Martina Navratilova will take to the courts in the first round of the World TeamTennis (WTT). The regular WTT Pro League will last from July 4 to July 24, while the final will be held in Sacramento, September 16-17, AP reports.
In 2005 WTT, the players, who have left professional tennis, will oppose today’s sportsmen. John McEnroe and Boris Backer have confirmed participation.
John McEnroe will stand for New York Sportimes, Anna Kurnikova - for Sacramento Capitals, Boris Backer – for Hartford FoxForce, Venus Williams – for Delaware Smash, Martina Navratilova – for Boston Lobsters, Lindsay Davenport – for Springfield Lasers, Steffi Graff – for Houston Wranglers, Maria Sharapova – for Newport Beach.
