Russian Forces in Kyrgyzstan Will Have Immunity
Kyrgyzstan's parliament has ratified an agreement "On the Status and Terms of Residence of Russian Military Personnel", which grants immunity to Russian personnel of the Russian Air Force base in Kant.
According to a statement by Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Esen Topoev, from now on,Russian servicemen who are members of the RF Air Force unit in the republic cannot be subjected to criminal persecution by Kyrgyz authorities and will be liable under Russian law for various violations.
These conditions also apply to US military personnel taking part in operations in Afghanistan.
