The Government May Have to Resign
January 14, First Vice-Speaker of the State Duma Lubov Sliska believes the cabinet may have to resign if the law on monetization of benefits is not properly implemented. “Yes, I don’t rule out such a possibility, anything can happened and there’re all reasons for that,” Sliska told journalists.
At the same time, she refused to comment on agreements reached the other day by the Presidium of United Russia Party and the Government on taking extra measures for a more efficient implementation of the law. “I won’t speak of these agreements till Januray 21, when the Duma considers all the chamber’s resolutions, in order to avoid correction by the government as has recently become popular,” Sliska explained.

She noted she wanted the resolutions to be passed January 21 without any corrections, and include in it all the agreements achieved by the party and members of the government.

Leader of Rodina faction Dmitry Rogozin was more radical in his statesments. In his interview he stated the president had to dismiss Health Minister Mikhail Zurabov and Minister of Social Development and Trade German Gref. Moreover, the deputy believes that the reform contradicts the Constitution by making worse life of the citizens.
