Moscow will Build its own Hermitage
December 22, A new museum and a gallery similar to Hermitage will be created during the reconstruction of Tsaritsyno reserve-museum, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov said in his interview to Center-TV channel.
He said that both the museum and the gallery would be located on the territory of the estate of Catherine the Great. It is also planned to clean up the ponds, widen the walking paths and to build entrances for vehicles. Luzhkov said that locations for two entrances have been already planned along with parking.

Tsaritsyno museum-reserve was passed under the jurisdiction of Moscow in return for former Lenin’s museum. However, according to Luzhkov, after the government issued the corresponding decree, some structures thought the “exchange was unequal.” Nevertheless, all plans regarding Tsaritsyno will bee fulfilled, Luzhkov said.
