Viktor Khristenko Meets with Japan’s Minister of Economy
May 3, Russian Minister of Energy Victor Khristenko has met with Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Shoichi Nakagava.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed the problem of finding the site for the international thermonuclear reactor. Khristenko stated that the choice of the site should be based on consensus.
According to press-service of RF Ministry of Energy, Viktor Khristenko also noted that if acceptable variant was found, Russia would propose a meeting at the ministerial level in summer 2004.
The countries participating in the international thermonuclear reactor construction project include France, Canada, Russia, the USA and some others.
Besides, the sides discussed the matters, connected to building a pipe-line system in the eastern direction, going out to Pacific Ocean’s coast. Viktor Khristenko confirmed that technical and economic assessment was being prepared.
