Turkish Fighter Liquidated in Chechnya
April 21, Twelve fighters, including a foreign mercenary, admittedly Turkish citizen Semek Yusif, were killed in South Chechnya in the course of intelligence and ambush operations.
The operation had been held in Vedensky, Sharoisky, Shatoisky and Itum-Kalinsky districts, said colonel Ilya Shabalkin, spokesman of the regional operational headquarters for controlling the counter terrorist operation in the North Caucasus. He also said 17 fightersэ bases, 18 observation posts, 8 caches with weapons, ammunition, food and medical supplies, ITAR-TASS reports.
