Moscow Court Begins Hearings on the Case of Menatep Head
April 15, Meshchansky Court of Moscow started preliminary hearings on Platon Lebedev’s case. MFO Menatep Ex-Head has been charged with fraud and evasion of tax. The hearings are not open for the public.
Platon Lebedev’s lawyers are expected to claim for a change of preventive punishment from confinement to bail or a written undertaking not to leave a place today. One of the lawyers, Evgeny Baru told RIA Novosti that the advocates would accept any preventive punishment, which does not involve custody.
There is a picket in front of the court building organized by Platon Lebedev’s supporters, who second the claims of defense on changing preventive punishment and call the case of MFO Menatep Ex-Head “political order.”
