Russia Demands Disarmament of Kosovo Fighters
April 8, Head of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov urged KFOR to do its best to disperse armed formations in Kosovo. This statement was voiced after the meeting of head of Russian diplomacy and NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
“We are convinced that KFOR has a very powerful, sharp-toothed and muscular mandate, whose author is NATO,” – said Mr. Lavrov. “This mandate should be used in full, - RIA Novosti quotes him as saying. – If this happens, I have no doubts, that illegal armed formations will soon be disarmed.”
