Abashidze Will Not Disarm His Militiamen
March 25, Ajaria President has rejected Mikhail Saakashvili’s demand to disarm and declared that the autonomy would not lay down arms until “democracy is established in Georgia”.
“We’re defending both our families and the constitutional system and will not allow unrest like that in Abkhazia, South Osetia and Samegrelo come over the region,” RBC cites his words.

Weapons have remained in the autonomy since the 1991 civil war in Georgia.
