The Government is to Draft 2005 Budget
March 25, While opening the government session, Prime Minister announced the actual beginning of work on the new budget in the framework of discussion of the country’s economic development program.
Mikhail Fradkov stressed that the budget would have to be balanced. “We have to solve the tasks set by the President to seriously increase GDP and raise the level of living,” RIA Novosti quotes head of the Government as saying. Mikhail Fradkov also noted that while developing economic development programs one should keep in mind Russia’s high dependence on the foreign economic situation. According Mr. Fradkov, he has already discussed the draft budget with ministers and heads of departments, and Minister of Economic Development and Trade is ready to come out with his proposals, RIA Novosti reports.
The government session was attended by the newly appointed heads of federal services and agencies, and Fr. Fradkov congratulated them on the actual beginning of work.
