Saakashvili Annuls Abashidze’s Diplomatic Passport
March 24, By the order of Mikhail Saakashvili Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs has annulled some 500 diplomatic passports, including that of Adzharia Republic’s head, Aslan Abashidze, as well as some other leaders of the autonomy.
The lists of nullified diplomatic passports also include Aslan Abashidze’s son Georgy, holding Batumi mayor’s office and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Autonomy, Dzhemal Gogitidze. From now on they will use ordinary passports of Georgian citizens.
News-Georgia agency reports that Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has informed all the diplomatic missions accredited in the country on this decision.
