Shell to Sponsor the Bolshoi Theater
March 24, Bolshoi Theater General Director Anatoly Iksanov told the journalists about the sponsorship contract signed with Shell oil company for the period of 2004-2007, for the latter to be the theater’s sponsor.
Mr. Iksanov believes this kind of collaboration “guarantees the realization of Bolshoi’s projects, which tend to be more of a long-term character.” Besides the sponsorship may help pay expensive medical treatment of soloist Nikolai Tsiskaridze in France as well as the treatment of choreographer and dancer Mikhail Lavrovsky, RIA Novosti reports.
