The State Duma Passes the Bill on Perm Territory
March 19, Bill on creation of Perm Territory has been passed by the Duma deputies after three readings in a row.
Perm Territory is to be formed by means of unification of Perm Region and Komi-Permyak Autonomous Area.
Let us remind you that in December 2003, the residents of Perm Region and Komi-Permyak Autonomous Area gave their voices for the unification of the two regions at the referendum.
The trend to consolidate regions into larger units is becoming more pronounced.
