Debt of the Former USSR Amounts to $6 Billion
March 19, A joint session of Finance Ministry and Ministry of Economic Development board on USSR debt is taking place in the building of Finance Minister with participation of Vladimir Putin.
According to Gazeta.ru the materials prepared by Finance Minister report that the volume of unsettled debts of the former USSR amounts to $6 billion, which in its turn makes up about 5% of Russia’s overall external debt.

In the document it is proposed to complete the settling of the debt in the near future, simultaneously repaying the part of debt registered in bilateral intergovernmental agreements.
