Fradkov Appoints Heads of Federal Services and Agencies
March 19, Russian Premier Mikhail Fradkov has named heads of federal services and agencies.
He appointed Valery Bugayenko head of Federal Communications Supervision Service and Sergei Novikov – head of Federal Tariff Service.
Besides, Mikhail Seslavinsky has been appointed head of Federal Press and Information Agency.
Sources in the Government told ITAR-TASS that Mikhail Seslavinsky, 40, “is a historian by education and an authoritative professional in the field of the mass media.”
A source of ITAR-TASS in the Federal Agency of Press and Mass Communications(FAPMK) recalled that Seslavinsky was born in Dzerzhinsk, a town in the former Gorky, now Nizhny Novgorod region, graduated from the history department of Gorky university and was twice elected to the State Duma.
At the end of 1990s, Seslavinsky headed the Federal Television and Radio Broadcasting Service and after the Service was abolished, he became first deputy head of the Press Ministry that has merged with the Culture Ministry within the framework of the current reform of the federal executive power.
Among other new appointments - Dmitry Milovantsev – head of Communication Agency, Anatoly Mikhalev – head of Federal Agriculture Agency, Nikolai Shipel - head of Federal Air Transport Agency, Vyacheslav Ruksha - head of Federal Ocean and River Transport Agency, ITAR-TASS reports.
All the appointees will be heads of corresponding agencies and services within the three-tier structure of the new Russian Government that comprises ministries, agencies and services.
