Deputies Endorse Fradkov as Prime Minister
March 5, Mikhail Fradkov's candidature for the post of Prime Minister has been approved at the State Duma plenary session.
According to the rules, the decision is made by simple majority of 226 votes. Russian President Vladimir Putin 's nominee for prime minister, however, got 411 votes, 5 deputies voted against Fradkov, 6 abstained from voting.
