Irina Khakamada May Withdraw Her Candidature
On February 24, Irina Khakamada, a presidential contender, stated on her site that she did not rule out the possible withdrawal of her candidature.
"Presidential campaign in Russia is becoming more and more lawless and misleading. The situation makes impossible the struggle of ideas and alternatives. If the situation does not change, I don't rule out the possible withdrawal of my candidature," she said in her statement.

In her statement the presidential contender draws the attention of the mass media and the public to 7 examples of what is from her point of view gross violation of pre-election legislation. Besides, Mrs. Khakamada believes that her example "should be followed by all the other presidential candidates in opposition, first of all Nikolai Kharitonov and Sergei Glazev".
