Russia Is the Seventh Largest Oil Supplier to the US
August 24, According to the latest data of the US Department of Energy, that country imported 321,000 barrels of oil per day from Russia in June 2004.
That puts Russia in seventh place among suppliers of oil to the United States. That figures is more than double the level for May 2004, which was 142,000 barrels per day. The largest suppliers of oil to the United States, in descending order are : Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Nigeria, Iraq, Russia, Great Britain, Kuwait and Algeria. Oil deliveries from Russia to the United States are down 27% as compared with 2003, however. It is noteworthy that, in Russia, the price of gasoline is higher than in the US.
