Medvedev Signed a Raft of Agreements in Venezuela
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev signed a package of agreements during his visit to Venezuela.
One of the agreements concluded by results of Dmitry Medvedev’s negotiations with Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez was the memorandum of understanding between the United Shipbuilding Corporation of Russia and Venezuela’s Oil Company.

In presence of both presidents, Russia’s gas monopoly Gazprom and Petroleos de Venezuela S. A. signed the agreement on joint exploration of Ayakucho-3 fields at Orinoco oil belt.

Russia and Venezuela also concluded the intergovernmental agreement for the use of nuclear energy for civic purposes. Another intergovernmental agreement relates to the air traffic and the third one provides for visa-free trips of the Russians and the Venezuelans. The fourth document of the governments spells out the energy cooperation.

Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev heads for Cuba today, which will be the last stop of his Latin America’s tour. Medvedev first attended the APEC summit in Lima, Peru, and then visited Brazil and Venezuela.
