Dmitry Medvedev to Attend the G20 Summit in London
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev will attend the G20 summit in London April 2, 2009, said president’s aide Arkady Dvorkovich.
“We welcome the decision to hold the summit no later than in April of 2009, as the leaders agreed at the first summit of G20, and in London, which was the subject of Washington meeting of Dmitry Medvedev and Gordon Brown. Russia’s president intends to take part in the summit,” Dvorkovich told the reporters.
The proposals for the second meeting of G20 leaders are being elaborated, Dvorkovich specified.
“We hope that the London summit will help proceed with the work that was started in Washington, in particular, concerning the global financial markets, and about the outline of new global financial architecture,” Dvorkovich said.
