Growth Continues on Stock Market
Growth is continuing on the Russian stock market. At 2:18 p.m., the MICEX index had reached 537.28 points, 0.67 percent higher than closing the day before. Most stocks are up. Sberbank gained 2.62 percent. Surgutneftegaz is up 1.96 percent. Bucking the trend, LUKOIL fell 1.98 percent, Norilsk Nickel is down 3.44 percent and Gazprom lost 0.63 percent. The RTS index is rising as well. It showed 3.51-percent growth by the same time, reaching 580.82 points. LUKOIL and Rosneft stock gained more than 6 percent on the RTS. VTB lost 1.79 percent.
Thus the Russian stock market is closing in the black today, predicts Alexander Zakharov, head of operations at Metropol, speaking on RBC TV. He said there would be no bad news from the market today. The lows reached on the market are causing participants to think about medium- and long-term purchases. The negative situation in the United States, Zakahrov added, which caused by isolated situations and not by conditions as a whole. Futures continue to grow in the United States.

Alexander Laputin, head of the investment consulting department at Otkrytie, characterized the rise in the Russian markets today as a “technical” rebound. Quotations are growing due to the action of Vneshekonombank, as well as market growth in Asia and futures growth in America. Most of the most liquid Russian stocks cost far above their minimums. Experts are recommending watching the spread between ADR and the Russian derivatives market.
