RBC TV Won Hot Bird TV Award
RBC TV has been acknowledged the best news channel in Europe and received Europe’s single TV award, the Hot Bird TV Award, aimed at promoting top-quality and original TV product.
En route to the Hot Bird, RBC TV outpaced three rivals in the News nomination, including Arab’s BBC, Bloomberg Television and France24. Two more challengers, Russia Today and Italian Rai News 24 hadn’t progressed to the second stage.

RBC TV General Director Artem Inyutin attributed the victory to the channel’s concept that combines around-the-clock news broadcasting with professional analytical programs.

The award had 11 nominations this year. Another prize winner of Russia is NTV Plus that was awarded for the sport NTV Plus Tennis and singled out as the company of highest development dynamics. The 365 Days TV channel prevailed in the Culture/Education nomination.

Russia’s channels are frequently awarded overseas, which proves top quality of domestic TV, Inyutin made clear.

Russia’s first business channel, RBC TV is the prizewinner of lots of TV contests. Last year, for instance, CNN awarded it for preparing the best business coverage for the World Report (2007 CNN World Report Awards).
