Russia Will Probably Buy Spy Drones in Israel
Russia’s Defense Ministry is studying the opportunity to buy spy drones in Israel, but the final decision hasn’t been made yet, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the ministry’s representative.
“The RF Defense Ministry has considered potential acquisition of spy drones from Israel. But one should remember about supporting a domestic producer and the military department will finally decide on the issue in the near term,” the source said, specifying that Russia will probably buy a few spy drones from Israel under the military and engineering cooperation program.
It was Mikhail Musatov, member of the State Duma’s Defense Committee, that told RIA Novosti Thursday about the intention of the RF Armed Forces General Staff to buy spy drones in Israel in the following two or three years. Musatov made the statement after the extended sitting of the committee that was attended by the General Staff Chief Nikolay Makarov.
Russia is going to buy drones in Israel, as the spying drones of that state are more efficient than the drones of Russia, chief of the General Staff said, according to Musatov.
