Spanish Repsol, Iberdrola Interested in LNG Projects in Russia
Spanish Repsol and Iberdrola are interested in the field development in Russia, including the projects for production and liquation of natural gas, Russia’s Vice Premier Alexander Zhukov told journalists November 12, 2008, PRIME-TASS reported. Zhukov made the respective statement after the meeting with leaders of Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations.
According to Zhukov, the potential for widening energy cooperation with Spain is very good. In this respect, the matters at stake are traditional power engineering and alternative sources of energy.

Spanish Repsol is in talks about setting up a venture with Russia’s Tambeineftegaz that develops Yuzhno-Tambey field in the Yamal peninsula and with U.S. Anadarco Petroleum Corp. The project provides for the liquation and shipment of natural gas.
