Forged Dollars of Highest Quality Discovered in S. Korea
Counterfeit $100 banknotes of super quality were discovered in South Korea, Echo of Moscow reported.
The police managed to seize consignment for the total worth of $1,000,000. Given the top quality of banknotes, they have been referred to the super-banknote category and distinguishing them from real dollars is next to impossible.
Who is behind the counterfeit money is yet unknown. The banknotes arrived from China and four persons involved in the crime have been detained and one more has been added to the wanted list.
The states of East and South-East Asia are the current leaders on the market of counterfeit dollar production. The United States even urged China to unleash a battle against the banknote forgers.
A channel for delivering counterfeit money from Asia has been blocked in Russia’s North-West Federal District this year. The criminals were selling counterfeit money via the students of St. Petersburg universities at the third of par value.
