Obama, Medvedev Might Meet This Month
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev may meet with U.S. President-elect Barack Obama already this month, RF Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
The meeting of two policymakers will probably take place during the summit of financial Top 20 in Washington, which Russia’s president is going to attend, Lavrov said.

When commenting on the U.S. presidential election, Lavrov said that Russia will proceed with building relations with America under the equal terms. Russia proposed those terms many times, they were fixed in the Sochi declaration approved by Presidents George Bush and Vladimir Putin in April and which significance President Dmitry Medvedev confirmed during his contacts with the U.S. leaders, Lavrov pointed out.

Russia hopes that provisions and cooperation fields worded in the Sochi declaration would secure continuity in relations with the United States, Lavrov said.

President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Barack Obama yesterday with the victory at presidential election and expressed hope for constructive dialogue based on the mutual trust and on taking into account interests of each other.
