U.S. Elections Promise Changes in Relations
U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Beyrle told a group of people gathered at his residence, Spaso House, tonight to discuss the American elections that new ideas and new approaches are in store for U.S.-Russian relations. The top U.S. diplomat in the country added that “the main thing is the national interest of the United States will not change.” “As before, we will strive for a stable and prosperous world in which people will be experience the advantages of democracy, freedom and constructive international relations,” he said.
“We see Russia in this as our natural partner, because we believe that the overwhelming majority of Russians share in those strivings,” Beyrle said. He expressed his certainty that “the new American administration will make every effort in the next four years to strengthen our partnership.”

In addition, Beyrle said that he thought the U.S. elections are important not only for that country, but for the whole world. “Many people came to our reception today and that gives me a feeling of pride and responsibility,” he said.
