Water, Food Delivered to Faina
Drinking water and food were yesterday delivered to Faina, the Ukrainian vessel captured by Somali pirates, RIA Novosti reported with reference to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's briefer Vasily Kirlich.
Faina has enough food, drinking water and fuel for vital life sustenance of the crew and the ship, Kirlich said without specifying the exact period for which the food and water would suffice. They will last for a week, Interfax reported with reference to Faina's acting master Viktor Nikolsky.

The pirates hijacked Faina in territorial water of Somali September 25, when it was carrying tanks and weapons to one of the African countries. The ship's master, the citizen of Russia, died of the heart attack in the first days after the capture. The citizen of Latvia, three Russians and 17 Ukrainians are the pirates' hostages now.

The pirates demand the ransom of $20 million. They threatened to kill the crew several times but have refrained from executing their threat so far.
