Thousands Rallied in Downtown Moscow
Activists of United Russia and its Young Guard movement held the rally of many thousands in downtown Moscow Tuesday. The event was timed to the People's Unity Day celebration in Russia.
The festive and celebratory atmosphere of the holiday notwithstanding, its participants mentioned the problems of financial collapse. United Russia fundamentally disagrees with employers, who tend to dismiss workers without any discharge grant and blame their decision on financial crisis, said Andrei Isaev, the first deputy presidium secretary of the party's general council. "We say the decided no," Isaev emphasized.
The venue of the rally was the Revolution Square of Moscow that has enough space for the crowd of 8,000 to 9,000. The activists covered nearly all space of the square, as the Locals and members of other public organizations took part in the event arranged by United Russia and Young Guard.
