Anyone Could Win in Doha
Larry Scott, head of the Women’s Tennis Association, says that any of the eight finalists could win the final tournament in the 2008 season in Doha, Qatar, AP reports. "The whole landscape changed when Justine Henin retired," Scott said. “That really opened things up for a lot of players."
Russians Dinara Safina, Elena Demetieva, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Vera Zvonareva will play in the final, as well as two Serbs – Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic – and American sisters Serena Williams and Venus Williams. The tournament begins November 4.
