China Ready to Share Olympic Experience with Russia
China is ready to render all necessary assistance and share experience of Olympics host, member of the PRC State Council, Vice Premier Liu Yandun said at today’s meeting in Sochi.
The vital thing, the vice premier emphasized, is to improve sports infrastructure in part of Olympic facilities not only during the Olympic Games but also afterwards. In China, six stadiums built for Olympics were passed on to students. Some 80 percent of houses in Olympic village had been sold even before the start of Olympics. All flats will be used for housing, the official specified. More than 1,000 plants hazardous to environment had been moved before the Olympics, she pointed out.
As the host-city of 2014 Winter Olympics, Sochi is looking for experienced partners, explained Sochi First Vice Mayor Alexei Agafonov. “In you, we see the state that has a lot to be learnt from. We hope it is one of the first steps towards cooperation, which will be interesting for both parties,” Agafonov added.
