Osborne Said He Made a Mistake by Discussing Donation from Deripaska
Britain’s shadow chancellor and one of the Tory leaders George Osborne pledged Monday in the interview with The Guardian that he wouldn’t discuss individual donations with individual donors.
Osborne admitted he had made a mistake by deciding to discuss a donation with the mates of Russia’s aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska. He regretted he had done it, the shadow chancellor said.

Osborne said he had neither asked for nor received the money but he had made a mistake. “I think I did make a mistake. I think in politics it is not just what you say or what you do, it is how things look. I must be honest, it didn’t look very good. I regret that,” The Guardian quoted Osborne as saying.

The shadow chancellor admitted past week he had been a guest at Rothschild’s villa, where the ways to get a donation from Deripaska had been discussed.
