Dollar Continues to Rise against Ruble
The official exchange rate of the rubles to the dollar for October 28 is 27.3507 rubles/$. That is 29 kopecks higher than the rate on October 24. As of 11:30 a.m. Moscow time, the dollar was still rising on the MICEX. At 12:20, the ruble was trading at 27.46/$ on the today market. That is 24 kopecks above closing on that market yesterday. The dollar reached a high of 27.475 rubles.
The dollar is rising against the euro on the international market as well as investors are continuing to pull funds from risky assets. The dollar reached $1.25/ˆ, a high of since April 2006. Experts had predicted that the growth of the dollar would stop at $1.30/ˆ.
