Georgian Threat to Moscow Uncovered
A terrorist war may break out in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi, Izvestia newspaper wrote today. The publication has in its possession copies of telegrams sent to all Moscow police divisions stating that Georgian radical patriotic groups are threatening Russians. “According to information obtained,” the newspaper quotes, “Georgian special services are preparing to blow up residential buildings in St. Petersburg and Sochi. Refugees from Abkhazia living in the cities indicated will be the perpetrators of those terrorist diversionary acts. Components for explosive devices were delivered to the residences of the perpetrators in October 2008.”
The newspaper indicates that the secret “patriots” are representatives of the Georgian special services. They intend to operate in the tradition of Islamic terrorists. According to the latest information, the Georgian special forces intend to use patriotic suicide bombers. In Moscow, they intend to use a new method: gunning down crowds in the center of the city.

On October 3, nine peacekeepers died as a result of a car explosion in Tskhinvali. Among them was Col. Ivan Petrik, chief of staff of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in South Ossetia. Two days later, construction workers were fired upon, resulting in the death of one of them. Law enforcement bodies have no doubts that Georgian special services were behind both actions.
