Party of Regions, Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc to Deliberate on Coalition Establishment
Party of Regions and Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc will officially consult Tuesday about potential creation of a new coalition in Ukrainian parliament, Supreme Rada, said Alexander Efremov, who is the deputy head of the Party of Regions faction.
“As I know, they have agreed today to meet in the wide format at 3:00 p.m. [4:00 p.m. MSK],” RIA Novosti quoted Efremov as saying.

The coalition of Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc and pro-president’s Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense collapsed September 16, as Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense withdrew from it in protest against the September 2 voting of Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc. On that day, the PM supporters voted with the opposition Party of Regions for the bills restricting president’s authority in Ukraine.

The Supreme Rada has 30 days to set up another coalition. Otherwise President Viktor Yushchenko will dissolve the parliament and call early elections.

The Party of Regions declared Monday that it set to active negotiations about the coalition establishment with all factions of the parliament. Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense also announced the launch of negotiations, excluding the Party of Regions and Communist Party from the list of potential partners.

Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc is for the agreement about the coalition’s creation, the faction leader Ivan Kirilenko said Tuesday. “We are for the parliament to agree in any format that will provide for the sovereignty, integrity of our borders, national self-identification, the state Ukrainian language, good relations with neighbors, European prospects,” Kirilenko specified.
