Russia Ready to Host Office of Gas OPEC
Russia, Egypt, Qatar, Algeria and Iran are willing to host headquarters of gas OPECGECF, Interfax-AGI reported.
Egypt, Russia, Qatar, Algeria and Iran are willing to host a secretariat office of Gas Exporting Countries' Forum (GECF), but only three of them – Egypt, Algeria and Iran – have officially applied for it, Iran’s envoy to OPEC Mohammad-Ali Khatibi told Shana Agency.

The GECF states will deliberate on the issue September 8 and 9, when they meet in Caracas, Venezuela. Another meeting of exporters will be held also in Caracas October 17 and 18. Nevertheless, the final decision on the GECF headquarters will be taken November 18 in Moscow, during the sitting of ministers of the member states.

GECF unites Iran, Algeria, Indonesia, Libya, Malaysia, Russia, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela. Norway takes part in its work as observer.
