Russia to Revise Trade Agreements with 5 States
Russia intends to revise trade agreements with five countries, including the United States, RIA Novosti reported with reference to Maxim Medvedkov, chief of the trade negotiations department at the RF Economic Development Ministry.
Russia is going to revise trade agreements with roughly five states, including the United States, which, in the current form, are economically disadvantageous to the RF, Medvedkov told journalists Monday. “There won’t be more than five of them [the countries]. Consultations with partners will begin in October,” the official specified.

Russia has sent a number of proposals to trading partners, including the United States, for the revision of the agreement on poultry supplies. With the United States, Medvedkov went on, from eight to ten bilateral agreements were concluded at different time, which doesn’t directly relate to Russia’s admission to the WTO. Amid them are the agreements on the lease of jets, telecom equipment, as well as the ones related to the cooperation in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary actions. “Not all agreements will be revised, only the ones with the tariff rates that we view extremely liberal,” Medvedkov explained.
