Vietnam to Introduce Visa-Free Procedures for Russians
Vietnam introduces visa-free procedures for the Russians visiting Vietnam for less than 15 days. The benefits will apply to all holders of Russian passports irrespective of purpose of the visit.
Earlier, Vietnam introduced visa-free procedures for tourists of Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
The decision about visa cancellation was taken after past week’s visit of Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem. Pham Gia Khiem discussed in Moscow cooperation of both states related to economy, power engineering and mining.
Some 70,000 went to Vietnam as tourists in 2008, covering nearly 17 percent of all tourist flow to the country. In Vietnam, they are short of Russian-language guides now.
Israel introduced the visa-free regime past Saturday. Nowadays, all citizens of the RF, including juniors, may go to Israel for 180 days each year without any visas. The matter at stake is the guest and tourist trips.
As to the visa negotiations with the European Union, they are far from being completed. Under the most optimistic forecasts, Russia and the EU might progress to the visa-free trips in two or three years. The key problem is that Russia has no readmission agreements with the third states.
