Putin Sees No Grounds for Cold War
Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sees no grounds for another Cold War with the West, Interfax reported.
Vladimir Putin made the respective statement in Sochi on Thursday, during the meeting with members of Valdai International Debating Club. Russia and the West are to agree on the common rules of coexistence, create new system of security, the prime minister made clear.

“We have no ideological contradictions, no basis for the Cold War. To the contrary, we have lots of common problems, which could be efficiently resolved only by joining the efforts,” Putin said.

Amid those global problems, Putin went on, are the terrorism, infectious diseases, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. “If we agree on the common rules, it will be a significant element of stability in the world,” the prime minister emphasized, adding that “attaining stability calls for the movement from both sides.”
