U.S. Exposed Everyone by the Market Crisis
The United States has exposed everyone with the crisis on financial market, but Russia’s government is able to cope with difficulties and straighten out the situation, President Dmitry Medvedev announced during the meeting with Federal Financial Market Service chief Vladimir Milovidov.
“We cannot change the situation on the U.S. market, let the Americans sort out their mortgage system. Although, bluntly speaking, they have certainly exposed nearly everyone,” Medvedev said.

At the same time, the president went on, “Russia should evidently have in mind two moments… The potential of a number of Russia’s companies and Russia’s assets is underestimated, there is the potential for growth. Secondly, the fact that Russia’s market is stepping up makes the estimates fluctuate significantly, which has its benefits and implications.”

“But I think that, in the end, the non-dramatic changes will lead to the stabilization, and with correct decisions, the situation will straighten out,” the president announced. “We will come to the indicators of early this year. Anyway, I think the government is able to do it,” Medvedev said, adding that this issue will be discussed at the Thursday meeting dedicated to establishment of the International Financial Center.
